New in Jade Property Suite 5.5
We hope you will enjoy the new features in this latest update to version 5. They are all designed to make life easier, save you time and allow you to work the way you want. If you have the Vista operating system, this version offers many improvements under-the-hood.
New Grid Features
Search inside text
To find a word inside a long text, type it in the new filter bar, preceded by an asterisk (*).
In the example to the right, we wanted to find properties that had 'chestnut' in the Caption. We typed *ches.
Searching in the filter bar is not case sensitive. In other words, we could have typed *CHES OR *Ches.
This method can be used to search for words or partial words in the Caption, Notes, Descriptions, Custom Memos and Jotter.
Search and Group by Date
Dates have new options in their header menus (the menu that opens when you click the little arrow to the right of a column in the grid).
For instance, to find all properties due to expire in the next 7 days, you simply tick the checkbox for 'Next 7 days'.
Records can be grouped into time periods. For example, drag the expiry date to the gray bar at the top of the grid, to see properties grouped as expiring Today, Tomorrow, Next 7 days etc.
These new date options are available in the Properties grid, the Events grid and the Enquiries grid.
Organize the grid columns
If
you have many columns in the grid, a new feature will help you arrange them
quickly.
Columns can be re-arranged by dragging them to a different position on the grid layout menu.
As you drag, a little green arrow guides you to the dropping position.
Events - New Design and Features
The events tab has been completely re-designed to make it easier to handle showings, offers, open houses, inspections and closing activities.
Events now have their own Print and navigation buttons.
In the grid, you can group events by any field and print for the expanded group or groups e.g. you might want to print all offers or all closing events.
More things you can now do:
- Print letters and envelopes for an event/events.
- View events for Today, last/next 7 days, 30 days etc.
- Select the type of event you want to create.
- Add/Remove fields in the events grid.
Print Templates
All printed outputs are now generated with Print Templates. In the past, 3 letters used system driven templates (the Enquiry Response letter, the Sale Agreed Letter and the Offer Received letter). This inconsistency has been removed. As a result, it is easier to create custom versions of these letters.
- A new folder with Events templates has been added.
- A new folder with Enquiries > Letters templates has been added.
- The letter for responding to enquiries can now be found under Enquiries > Letters.
- The "Offer Received" letter can now be found under Events > Letters.
- The "Sale Agreed" letter can now be found under Reports and Documents > Letters and Envelopes.
- See the list of templates shipped with Jade Property Suite 5.5.
Better Management of Custom Fields
The labels used on the custom tab of the property record are now in the Database. This make several tasks much easier:
- If you are sharing the database, the custom field names will also be shared.
- Custom field names are now edited via the Administration menu. (Administration > Database > Custom Field Names).
- The custom field names are included in the backup.
New Options on the Images Tab
- A copy of an image can now be exported from the database. (Image... Export).
- The Image menu now shows the filename of the image (Image.. Details).
Search Panel
A fast method of searching on one option in the Search Panel has been included. For an instant search, click on any item and press the Return key on your keyboard.
Jade Data Location
Due to Micrososft Windows requirements, the default Jade Data Location has been moved from the program files folder to the common data folder. Jade changes this for you.
If you are upgrading on a network, you might need to move the Windows share to the new Jade Data Location folder.
