Insert a Field Component in a Print Template

Open the template in the editor's Design View.

 

1. From the data aware component toolbar, select the component you want to create:

DBFieldIcon

DBText component

For a text field e.g. fields that contain one word, number or line of text (most fields are of this type).

DBMemoIcon

DBMemo component

For a memo field e.g. Description, CustomMemo1, Notes

DBImagefilename

DBImageFilename

For an image loaded into Jade.

 

2. With the component selected:

- Click on a white space in the template where you want it to appear.

- Position the component by dragging or nudging.

- Choose the pipeline (e.g. Properties) from the query menu.

- Choose the field you want from this pipeline using the field selector menu (e.g. Propertystatus):

 

3. Right-click the component and ensure that the following options are selected:

 

For a DB Text component

tickAutoSize

tickTransparent

tickVisible

 

For a DBImageFilename component

tickAutoDisplay

tickMaintain Aspect Ratio

tickCenter  (the image will be aligned to the left unless this is checked)

tickStretch

tickVisible

 

For a DB Memo component

tickAutoDisplay

tickStretch (only select this if you want the memo to expand according to the amount of text in the field)

tickVisible

 

 

If you need a label for this field :

Enter the label text in the Label box
Align the field component and the label
Format the label text and the field component

 

If the field you need is not available:

Add a field to the query.
