Topic Level: Advanced Report Design

The Data tab in the Print Template Editor shows the database queries used in the template. This 'Data View' can be saved as a *dtm file. This means that a data view can be re-used.

When you switch to the Data tab, the File menu options change. These include Import/Export options specifically for the Data view.

Export: Saves the current Data view as a separate *dtm file.

Import: Replaces your current Data View with the *dtm file you import.

Merge: Adds the queries from another Data View to your current view.

To import or export a data view:

Select Export or Import from the File menu.(Both operations must be carried out from the Data View tab).

To merge data views:

Select Merge from the File menu.
Browse for a data view (*.dtm) that you previously exported.

By importing a Data View, the data source for the report is changed and the references may need to be fixed. If so, you will need to

-Select the Data Pipeline for the report and for each of its sub-reports.

-Select the fields using the field selector.
