Notes on Upgrading to Version 6 Web Designs
Jade Property Suite 6 generates XHTML web pages. Previous versions of Jade created HTML. The web design files you have selected are automatically upgraded to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This makes it possible to use the new clickable thumbnails feature for property pages - even in a web design from an earlier version of Jade Property Suite.
However, Internet Explorer does not interpret all XHTML rules in the same way as other browsers. (Microsoft may decide to fix this in the next version of Internet Explorer). For the moment, this means that Internet Explorer will not always align text to the left when it should.
If the alignment is not correct in Internet Explorer when you create web pages, you can do one of the following:
- Option 1. Use the web design shipped with Jade 6. (Recommended - see
example
listings generated with the Basic 6 web design)
or - Option 2. Add a small piece of code to an earlier version web design.
Option 1. Select the New Jade 6 Web Design and Quick View Design
- Administration > Web Publish Options
Use the browse button (...) to select the Basic Version 6 web design. This is usually located in C:\Program Files\Jade Tools\Jade Property Suite\Web\Designs\Basic Version 6.jwd - Administration > Quick View Options
Use the browse button (...) to select the Basic Quick View Version 6. This is usually located in C:\Program Files\Jade Tools\Jade Property Suite\Web\Designs\Basic Quick View Version 6.jwd
Option 2. Edit an Old Web Design or Quick View Design
- Administration > Web Publish Options > Edit Web Design.
- View menu > Jade HTML Code.
- Select Category Pages on the left.
On the right, towards the top of the page you will see this:
